Clone of Cinnabon *****

This is the best cinnamon rolls
recipe I have ever tried. I usually only make it once or twice a year because it is a lot of work even though the dough is prepared in a bread machine. I got the recipes off of allrecipes.com which calls for you to cut the dough into 12 pieces but I cut mine into 1" rolls and I usually get between 21-24 rolls. If you cut the dough into 12 pieces the rolls would be very large and usually a small one is quite enough sugar for me and I like sugar.
Dough:
1 cup of warm milk
2 eggs
1/3 cup of soft Parkay margarine
4 1/2 cups of bread flour

1 tea of salt
1/2 cup of sugar
2 1/2 tea of bread machine yeast
Place ingredients into bread machine according to the manufacturer. Select the dough setting and press start. Turn finished dough onto floured surface, cover and let rise for 10 minutes. Roll dough into a 15" x 22" rectangle
Filling:
1 cup of packed brown sugar
2 1/2 tbsp of ground cinnamon
1/3 cup of soft Parkay butter
Spread dough with 1/3 cup of butter. Mix brown sugar and cinnamon and sprinkle evenly on top of butter. Roll the dough lengthwise and cut into 1" slices. Place rolls into a lightly greased pan and leave room for the rolls to expand. Let rise for about 30 minutes, preheat oven to 400 degrees and bake for about 15 minutes or till the tops are slightly browned, do not over bake. In the picture mine are more than slightly browned and
they were drier than usual. Mix
frosting while rolls are baking.
Frosting:
4 ounces of soft cream cheese
1/3 cup of soft butter
2 1/2 cups of powdered sugar
2 tea of vanilla
1/8 tea of salt
Cream butter and cream cheese, add powdered sugar, vanilla and salt. Spread frosting on warm rolls, allowing it to run down the sides. This will help keep the rolls soft.

Mom Can Fix It

My son in law bought a dress for my daughter while he was in Europe, it is very cute and it is to small. So who does she call....Mom. It was a strap less dress and a zipper in the back. I cut the zipper down to the waist, added loops along the back and straps that start in the front and lace up the back. This fix worried me and it took me a while to figure out how to fix it but I think it turned out OK.

The dress below had sleeves and every time she lifted her arms the whole dress would lift up and there's not a lot of up it can go. I cut the sleeves off and used hem tape to turn it under and sewed it into place. Then I took the sleeves and made a flower to pin onto the dress or put in her hair. I took the other sleeve and made shoe ruffles with iron on jewels down the center. I just taped them onto the center part of my shoes for the picture but they could be sewn together and then you have a ruffled cuff bracelet. Whose your momma?

Chocolate Mug Cake

What a great idea, chocolate cake in a coffee mug for two. Amy (my daughter) found this recipe and asked me to try it. You mix everything in the mug so clean up is a breeze. We turned the mug over and the cake fell right out, we cut it into two pieces, added a large scoop of ice cream and a small scoop of cool whip. Then Amy drizzled Hershey chocolate syrup over the top, ummm.

4 tablespoons flour 4 tablespoons sugar
2 tablespoons cocoa
1 egg
3 tablespoons milk
3 tablespoons oil
3 tablespoons of chocolate bits
1 tablespoon of vanilla
1 large microwave safe
coffee mug
Mix everything in the coffee mug. Put your coffee mug in the microwave and cook three minutes in a 1000 watt microwave. The cake will rise over the top of the mug, but don't be alarmed! The mug is now very hot so allow it to cool slightly, then tip the cake out onto a plate. My microwave is 1065 watts so I should have stopped it at about two minutes but it stilled turned out OK. I will try to get a mug that is straight up and down then I can tip the cake out and cut it lengthwise. This would be pretty with banana slices, strawberries and or chocolate ganache drizzled over the top. We each had one section and it was just enough to satisfy my sweet tooth and I didn't have left over cake sitting around the house. Gotta love it!

Wooden Cross

I found these wooden crosses at Hobby Lobby for 30% off and they were the last two on the shelf. I often buy items that are a good price and they sit around until I get a great idea (I have a lot of good stuff sitting around). The crosses are a bit rough so I sanded them down and then I stained the larger cross, inked the edges and mod podged it front and back. The smaller cross I painted black and mod podged some felt onto the top of it. I hot glued the smaller cross onto the larger cross and then hot glued the clay horseshoe on top of the
crosses. The studs have prongs on the back, so I dabbed a bit of hot glue on and then pushed the studs into the wood. I had a few items to go on top of the crosses but nothing caught my fancy until I placed the horseshoe on top and BAM I had a winner. I really like this one and will make more as soon as I find more good deals.

Relatives by Appointment Only

I have a bunch of 1" x 6" pieces of wood and a whole book full of cute sayings, put them together and what do you get? Wooden plaques all over my house.
I sanded the wood and stained it then I printed the sayings on a sheet of scrapbook paper. I tore the edges and mod podged the paper onto the wood, mod podge is a sealer so I mod podged every inch of that baby.
The font is CK Curly and I should have made it bold but as you can see I didn't. There are so many cute fonts out there and they are free at 1001fonts.com. Go getcha some and have fun.

Belt Choker

My daughter's belt was splitting and she was going to throw it away but I grabbed it and sat it aside until I figured out what to do with it. After a little Blog searching I cut the belt into multiple pieces and with the first piece I made a cuff bracelet. I took the longest piece of belt and decided to make a choker to match the bracelet. I found some jewelry clamps that had teeth on them and clamped two of them on each end. I had to remove three center studs and then I hot glued the cross in the middle. Next I ran a piece of 30" black ribbon through the clamp hooks and tied a knot and there you have it, a recycled belt choker. And to think she wanted to throw it away...silly girl!!!

What did you buy that for?

My husband should know better, but he
does it anyway. I bought this roll of designer Duck Tape so I can make some cute twist ties and my husband looks at it and asks what I am buying this for. Now he knows I'm using it for one of my craft ideas but he can't help himself, he has to ask.
I enjoy crafting so I took it with me on vacation along with some thin wire, you lay the wire on the duck tape and then fold the tape over it and cut it to about 1/4" wide and about 5" to 6" long, very easy and they are so darn cute.
My husband may laugh at this tape but when the Bimini top on our boat broke guess what he had to borrow from me. I'm glad it was under the material and wasn't visible, even I wouldn't have liked that. He is so lucky to have me.
