January Calendar Page

January in Texas is usually cold and mushy. This December the rest of the country was having snow warnings but in Texas the cold fronts don't make it down here until January. So January is my cold weather baby page. I found a snow flake needle point pattern on the Internet and I stitched it onto my page. I used three strands of white floss, a 52" piece will stitch down one one row and up the other, I use tape to hold the ends down on the back side. I also sew small
flakes around the edge of the page. Next I cut a teddy bear from a pattern, he is inked on the edges and I give him stitch lines with a ultra fine sharpie. He gets a tag that reads: Everything with you I'll share except of course my Teddy Bear.
In the center of the page it reads: Teddy Bear Wishes, Snow Flake Kisses. I left room for photos of the baby that his mom will add. This page will slip into one side of the scrapbook and on the opposite side will be a blank calender page. It took me two hours to stitch the big snow flake but I think its worth it. The mom can add snowflake brads or photo corners with snowflake stickers.

Naugthy or Nice?

I printed out naughty and nice on paper, I placed the paper inside the shirt and I placed the shirt on a light table. I traced the letters in red and then I made a black box with black paint, make sure your paint is for clothing. The check inside the black box is chalk, so it can be wiped off and marked naughty, so you better watch out, Santa Claus is coming to town!

Part of the Family

I think somebody's jealous!!!
Aldin brought his own stocking to the house and hung it on the chimney. Maybe he's expecting bribes from the kids? Works for me!

You Smell Delicious!

The little boy's mother always hugs him and tells him he smells delicious. This is a routine and the little boy loves it. His Uncle is leaving so he picks him up and the little boy wraps his arms around him and tells him "You smell suspicious". Priceless!!

That's Not Santa!!

My 3 year old nephew sat on Santa's lap at our family Christmas party last weekend. He jumped down off of Santa's lap, took his gift to his mother and then came back over to me and pointed at Santa and told me "That's not Santa"! I told him it was and he said "No it's not, he's not fat". I looked at him and told him it's because he ate Santa's cookies. He just looked at me then turned around and walked off!!! He couldn't argue with me because his mother bought him a shirt that says "I ate Santa's cookies". A three year old should not mess with me!!

Santa's Elf

What do you do if your Elf on a Shelf falls and dosen't get up? You're not allowed to touch him and he falls in the door way? Santa is gonna hear about this one!!!!
You leave him right where he is and when no one is looking he will get up. My sister's Elf fell off the Shelf and the next morning he had a bandaid on his arm and it stayed there for days.
We didn't put any tensile on our tree this year and I guess the Elf didn't like that. We woke up the next morning with tensile all over our tree and the Elf was sitting in a pile of tensile, I think he got it all wrapped around himself and couldn't get loose. It was priceless!

One Nation Under God

I bought a shadowbox at Hobby Lobby while they were half off, I threw the paper away but I think it was a 12" x 16". For the yoyo's I used a CD to cut the material and it was the perfect size, 16 red/maroon, 16 white and 12 blue with white stars. I took wooden stars and painted the red/maroon and hot glued them onto the blue yoyo's. I stained the shadowbox frame inside and out, if you get some on the glass just scratch it off. I painted the back panel and hot glued the yoyo's onto the back panel. I bought the white cross at Hobby Lobby, half off and I used E6000 to glue it to the back panel. I used my Cricut to cut out the vinyl letters and attached them to the front of the shadowbox. I think it turned out so stinking cute!

We go through a lot of bandaids at my house!

We go through a lot of bandaids
at my house! I carry them in my truck and in my purse. But what do you do if your dog chews a hole in your favorite stuffed animal? You give him a bandaid too! I took a piece of extra wide hem tape and sewed an oval with brown thread, then I sewed two lines going across the center. Next I hand sewed some tiny dots in the middle, then I sewed the bandaid on his foot. Now he is the bear with the booboo, awwww.

How does Santa get in our house?

How does Santa get into your house if you don't have a chimney? With Magic Keys silly, everybody knows that. I have been looking everywhere for keys and then I found these keys at Hobby Lobby and they were 50% off, can you say BAM. I love it when I find what I need and then it's on sale. I wrote a poem to go with it and then I sent it to my daughter Amy, she rewrote it and it sounded a lot better, so I will go with hers. This will come from the Elf on a Shelf, he is such a stinker, if you don't have one you need to get one, they are so cute.

How does Santa get into my house,

When it's hard enough for a tiny little mouse?

My windows are sealed,

and my doors are all locked,

I have no chimney, all the exits are blocked.

But wait! Hold on! What's that I see!

It looks like a key that's made just for me.

A key so Magical and Special it's true,

Not a door, not a lock that Santa can't get through!

Place it outside your door on Christmas night,

Santa's magic will make it fit just right!

The Faith of a Child

I'm sure you have all heard you need to have the Faith of a child, have you ever wondered what that kind of Faith would be like? My 2 year old grandson Paxton woke up one morning with a bleeding disorder called ITP, we had everyone in Texas praying for that boy. He has the acute type that usually occurs once in a life time, Thank God. I prayed and prayed and when we find out it's the acute type I think wow I'm glad he had the acute type and then I get an e-mail from my daughter, Paxton's older brother Payton told her it's because he Prayed to God and God healed him. You could have knocked me over with a feather, what was I thinking, where is my child like faith? Why wasn't it my first thought, God healed him? Maybe I'm spending to much time on worldly things, I need to get back to thinking like a child and open my mind to God.

Cross Exchange

Our Sister Circle group at Church had our Christmas party last night at a local restaurant. We had talked about drawing names but decided to have a Cross exchange. You could buy any kind of Cross and the limit was $25.00. Now I knew most of the Crosses would be the type you hang on the wall but I had to do something different, it's expected of me. I went to Hobby Lobby and found the Cross, but it was pretty small so I had to put it on something. I walked around and found all sorts of things to put it on but it matched this box so perfect I knew that was the one. The cross was 50% off and the box was 40% off so I able to buy the biggest box. We took it home, took off the hanging hardware and I used E6000 to glue the Cross on. Next time I'll have to think outside of the box, I crack myself up!!
