Gift Tags

I took some old Christmas cards and some old Birthday cards and punched out circles with a 2 1/2" circle punch. Add some trim and you have gift tags. It's a good way to recycle those old cards or small pieces of leftover scrapbook paper.

You've Been Egged

This is my entry for the #13
scrapbook challenge and I also "Egged" Tori and Bishop. I took this page, placed it in a clear envelope, put a butterfly on the outside that said "Love Grandma" and 6 candy filled eggs and placed them by the front door, rang the door bell and hid. Tori answered the door and said "what is that". Sarah read the page and then I popped out of hiding.....too fun! Payton and Paxton will get one too but their mom will put it out because I won't get to see them this weekend. Eat the candy in the eggs, refill them and then go "egg" someone else! I put candy in the eggs but goldfish and grapes are great too.

My Rockin' Horse

I love this little rocking horse, he is so cute, I bought this file from Little Scraps of Heaven Design. I inked the paper and gave him a yarn tail. Then I had to come up with a poem / saying to go with it. I'm not very good at this but I always jot down what I want and then give it to Amy to re-write. Amy was born with the gift of GAB, she is good! She wrote a paper when she was a senior in High school that she won a scholarship for. Gift of GAB.
This cowboy's work is never done, he rises with the morning sun, he sets off on that long western trail, to haul the bad guys off to jail. He never feels lonely with that sky open wide, for he has his trusty friend by his side, a friend so huggable, loveable and sweet, a friend that offers a comfortable seat, he takes real good care of his friend of course, after all he sure loves his rockin' horse.
Is she good or what? I can just see a mom calling her son to dinner but he can't eat now, he is on his horse and his imagination can take him everywhere.

Fairy Craft Mother

This is my entry for Sketch Challenge 11, for Little Scraps of Heaven Design. I had to take a photo of my craft room and design a page around it. I used the Fairy Bear file, gave her some silk flower petals for a skirt and vellum wings. I was trying to come up with a catchy title and I finally thought of one, it came to me at 4 am in the morning and it was very hard to go back to sleep. Vellum is hard to craft with, if you put glue or tape behind it you will see it through the vellum so most of the time I like to sew it on. I put glitter glue on top of the wings and that turned out cute. I was going to make her a wand with a hot glue gun at the top but I was tired of working on this page so she just got a flower wand. I should have given her the glue gun wand!

Say Cheese Calendar Page

I downloaded the "Say Cheese" SVG file from Treasure Box Design. At first I placed the design on a plain piece of paper and it just wasn't talking to me but then I placed it on this glitter paper and it screamed cute. I always like a second opinion but they left home >>>Amy and Sam<<<. Now I could ask my husband but he always tells me "I don't know", HE IS NO HELP!!! Sorry, to continue...Add baby photos on top of the film strips and it will be precious. I was going to put "Mommas Gonna Snap" on it but since I have the mouse I decided on "Say Cheese". For the next page I cut a 4" hole in the paper and the baby's photo should be placed behind the paper. I stamped the design
around the circle and I used
iron on jewels in the stamped design. I placed the jewels on the paper, covered it with a cloth and followed the manufacturers instructions. I took some flowers apart (On sale for $1.00) and hot glued them onto the page and added pearl beads in the center. It just makes my day to find items on sale, like a two year old in a candy store, I had a silly grin on my face the rest of the day.

Girl Baby Calendar Pages

The first calendar page is for May, Mother's Day. What little girl wouldn't want to have a tea party with her mother? My girls have grown and we still have tea parties, we have just added a few grand kids to our parties. How does your garden grow? The second page could be for any month. It's just cuteness on a page. I would take a photo, enlarge it and cut the photo into a circle or take a few photos and using a circle punch cut them out and place them on the page. You can create a slide show effect with a few smaller photos.

March Baby Calendar Pages

Since Amy did a Mardi Gras page for March I thought I would try a Rodeo page for March. I saw a tutorial on how to draw barbed wire at gabriellepollacco.blogspot.com. I didn't even own an opaque pen so off to the hobby store and now I do. I used the opaque pen on the little girls eyes, the barbed wire and on my December page. I cut the rest on my Cricut using layouts from Little Scraps of Heaven Designs - Southwest, isn't she precious? The next two pages are St. Patrick's day pages, ShamRock and Happy St. Patrick's Day. I used three different colored markers for the scrolls and felt for the shamrocks on the Happy St Patrick Day page. I used the Sure Cuts A Lot program along
with my Cricut to make the
shamrock guitar.

Granny's Punch Bowl

There are some things we buy in our life time that last forever. We don't plan this at the time, we just know we need it now. I wonder did Granny know when she put this punch bowl in layaway that generation after generation would use it. She bought it for $29.95 at Jones Hardware Store in The Heights, she put it in layaway and paid a few dollars a week until she had it paid off. It has been used by three generations for weddings, showers and anniversaries. $29.95....Priceless. The platter weights 10 pounds, the punch bowl weights 10 pounds and it comes with 10 glasses.

Girly Baby Calendar Pages by Amy

Amy is putting together this baby calendar scrapbook for one of Ben's sisters. Now usually I make a St. Patrick's Day page for March but in Louisiana Mardi Gras is very popular so she had to come up with a Mardi Gras page. Maybe I should change my idea of March because here in Texas you could also have a Rodeo day for March. I just have to keep reminding myself that it is for a baby and should be babyish. Amy and Ben went to the hobby store to pick up some paper for the Mardi Gras page and Amy picks up some pastel paper and Ben tells her those aren't Mardi Gras colors, she trys to argue. He picks up some paper and asks the ladies standing near them which ones are more of the Mardi Gras colors and the ladies agree with him, good job Ben. I think her March page turned out just fine. The little girl has a brother so Amy made a page for him also...I never thought of that! She hand cut all of the pieces and pasted the together, how cute is that page, "Of all the things I have to play, I'd choose my brother any day". Next is her fourth of July page and then her Fathers Day page. "It is every woman's right to be a princess" from The King and I with Yule Brenner, love that movie. The bottom page is made with a specialty paper, it is a crinkles pearlescent paper, I love that paper. She also used it for the sand on the brother page. I think Ben's sister is going to
love this scrapbook. Way To Go Amy!
