Country Apple Dumplings 5*****

I found this recipe and I forgot to write the website down but I have changed it up some. This is like an apple fritter drowning in brown sugar cinnamon butter. And if you eat it warm, ohhhhh the goodness!! This recipe is super easy and has ingredients I usually have on hand. Remember the movie, Apple Dumpling Gang?? I always wondered what an apple dumpling was, now I know!
Country Apple Dumplings
1 medium apple
1 can of crescents dough
1 stick of Parkay butter
2/3 cup of brown sugar
1/2 teaspoon of cinnamon
1/2 teaspoon of vanilla

Pre-heat the oven to 350 degrees. Grease an 8 x x8 baking dish.
Core, peel and thinly slice the apple. Lay the crescents out and place the apple slices on the largest end and roll up, place in the dish. Melt butter in microwave, stir in brown sugar, cinnamon and vanilla until well blended. Pour over the crescents, make sure to cover every inch of the crescent, it will run off but the sugar butter will bake into the top. Bake for 20-25 minutes or until golden brown.

*I used three slices of apple in some and four slices in others. The ones with the four slices didn't seem to cook the apple completely, so I will use only three slices from now on.

Amish Cinnamon Bread 5*****

Amish Cinnamon Bread
by: redflycreations.com

We gave this a 5 star rating because it is delicious and super easy!

Batter:
1 cup of soft Parkay butter
2 cups of sugar
2 eggs
2 cups of buttermilk
4 cups of flour
2 teaspoons of baking soda

Cinnamon Sugar:
2/3 cups of sugar
2 teaspoons of cinnamon

Pre-heat oven to 350 degrees
For Cinnamon Sugar, mix cinnamon and sugar and set aside.
Cream butter, sugar, and eggs together, add milk, flour and baking soda. Put 1/2 of the batter into 2 greased loaf pans ( about 1 1/2 cups in each). Sprinkle 3/4 of Cinnamon Sugar on top of batter. Add remaining batter into the pans and sprinkle remaining Cinnamon Sugar on top, swirl with a knife.  Bake approximately 45 minutes or until a toothpick tester comes out clean.

We liked this just like it was but then I decided to mix some powdered sugar, vanilla and milk until I got an icing consistency, spread some on and WOW.....that is good.

Buttermilk - Mix 2 cups of milk with 2 tablespoons of vinegar and let sit for 5 minutes
