Roasted Galic Butter

I saw this recipe on whipperberry.com and I decided to give it a try. I made it for Christmas to hand out, I didn't know if any one would want to try it but they all grabbed some. I'm going to give you the simple version but if you go to whipperberry.com she has photos and better instructions.

Roasted Garlic Butter
3 large heads of garlic
extra virgin olive oil
salt & pepper
2 sticks of soft Parkay

Cut the top off of the garlic, place it on foil, pour the oil on top, season and close the foil. Bake at 375 for 45 minutes. Gently squeeze the garlic out of the skins and mash with a fork. Mash in the butter, add more salt and pepper if needed.

She baked her garlic for 30 minutes but I think it needs longer than that or maybe its because I baked mine in a toaster oven. I just don't want to heat up the whole house for a couple of garlic heads.

Reindeer 2013

For the Irvin Christmas party this year I made lighted reindeer for ornaments. I cut out a pattern from a design I found, cut a whole for the bulb and a slit down the back for the tea light. I used tiny black button brads for the eyes and just pushed them through. I sewed around the horns and stuffed them, tucked in the tea light and a little more stuffing and sewed it up. I pushed a tiny nail through the top and using a needle threaded the ribbon through, added a bow and slid the metal ornament hook on through the bow. It can be turned off and on through the back slit. Isn't he a cutie?

Oreo Fluff

My niece Kelly made this dessert last Christmas and I have been planing on making it all year but I have tried to stay away from sweets.... until now. I saw these red filled Oreo cookies and I knew it was time! After I made it I was worried that no one would want to try them because the red Oreo's made it look weird but it tasted good.

Oreo Fluff
15 oz Oreo cookies (crushed)
8 oz whipped topping
2 cups of milk
2 cups of mini marshmallows
1 - 6 serving box of white chocolate
    (I used 2 - 4 serving boxes)

Mix milk and pudding. Add whipped topping.
Stir in Oreo's and marshmallows, refrigerate for a couple of hours.

I made mine the day before and it was perfect, the cookies were still crunchy, not soft and mushy. Wouldn't this be fun for St Patrick's Day with green Oreo's?

You Silly Girl

Psalm 23 is my favorite verses, I pray it daily. One day I was sitting and thinking about how David came about writing these verses. When David was a boy, his Father called him in from the field where he was shepherding, the prophet Samuel was there to anoint one of Jesse's sons. When David came into the room the Lord said, “Rise and anoint him; this is the one.”
So Samuel took the horn of oil and anointed him in the presence of his brothers, and from that day on the Spirit of the Lord came powerfully upon David, (1 Samuel 16:12-13). WOW this is the ONE. God told Samuel to anoint him. And then I heard a voice whisper, you silly girl, I put you into a God fearing family and made sure you were anointed also! Well bust my buttons, He did and I was. I was born into a good Christian family and I was Baptized. I may not be famous or have riches but GOD LOVES ME!
