You can never have enough costumes!

Believe me, you can never have enough costumes and the best costumes are the ones you can mix and match. The top costume is an angel but it could be a fairy costume also, the next is a Halloween costume but you could wear the skirt for St. Patrick's day. Now the shirt is for my grandson Bishop, we now call him Super B because there used to be a fast car called the Super B and it sounds cool. I have a closet full of costumes, all different sizes but I'm thinkin I need a new one for Halloween this year, hehehehe

It all depends on how you look at it!

I went to the dollar store about a month ago to buy some paper lanterns, and there was this older man in front of me at the check out stand. He was counting his change over and over again to make sure he had enough to pay for his items. I reached into my purse to see what cash I had, it was two dollars in quarters, so I handed it to him. He asked me, "what is this for", and I told him "I have been very blessed". Yesterday Chuck Swindoll talked about Angels, they're everywhere, all around us, but they don't wear name tags. So then it hits me, I am looking at this situation all wrong. This was not just a "pay it forward", this wasn't an old man who needed a few extra coins, this old man is an Angel and this was a test. I did the least I could do, what I should have done is pay for all of it.
I have also realized people who don't have money don't shop at HEB, they're not going to come to me, so I need to go to them, the dollar stores are perfect places to find people in need.

Kneelers

Father David handed out a Church wish list, and on the list was a kneeler, "Prie Deiu". I waited a week to see if anyone else would purchase or make the kneeler but no one had, so I did. There are instructions everywhere on the internet and I also went and measured the one my dad had made for my mom. On line they ran from $200.00 and up and some are very fancy but I thought they should be plain and not the focus of your attention. I used (1) 8" x 6' and (3) 6" x 6' pine boards, dark walnut stain and three coats of polyurethane, 2" foam roll and I had the material on hand. After I finished making the kneelers, we noticed they tipped easily so we added two metal holders to the front. What I should have done was extended the bottom side board 2" in front, that would have made the board 22" long and safer.
(1) 8" x 24" top
(1) 8" x 20" top front board
(1) 8" x 20" kneel board
(2) 6" x 30/31 side boards
(1) 6" x 20" shelf board
(2) 6" x 22" bottom side boards
(1) 6" x 18 1/2 kneel support

I made two and if Father David doesn't want the other one it can be placed in the Bazaar auction, win, win either way!

My New Boots

I think everybody has a pair of riding boots except me!!!!! I have wide calves and fat feet and nothing fits me, until now, yea!, whoopie! I found these at Roaman's, they fit great and they are very comfortable. I can even fit my jeans down inside the boot. They make me want to sing.... These boots are made for walking and that's just what I'll do, one of these day's these boots are gonna walk right past you!

Christmas Spring Angel

When I fixed the chair from Church, there were springs holding the straw up and I decide to keep them for other projects. What better way to use them than for the Bazaar? I bought the Christmas ornaments at Hobby Lobby (on sale) and I had the jewels on hand from another project. I used 14 ga. wire, cut a piece 10" and using my needle nose pliers curled the wire to hang the jewel on. I cut the wings with my Cricut, painted the edges with gold paint and sprinkled glitter on the wet paint. I hot glued the wings on, the ornament just sits down inside the spring. You could also place a white ornament inside the spring with a snowflake hanging from it.... Snowflake Spring Angel!

Sausage Burgers

Do you like sausage? Do you like burgers? How about a sausage burger? This burger is to die for! I was watching Guy's, Diner, Dives and Drive In's when I saw someone make it at a diner and I knew I just had to try one. I used 1 - Eckrich jalapeno and cheddar sausage link, split down the middle but not cut all the way through, grilled, cut in half on top of a cheese burger....yummm! You gotta try this one!
