Heart Wreath

I made this heart wreath to hang in the house for Valentine's day. I took some wire and shaped it into a heart, it had some crooks and bends in it and thats OK because I covered it completely. I cut some strips of fabric 1" x 7" and just tied them onto the wire. The fabric frayed some but I kind of like that Raggedy Ann look. I should have added some burlap, maybe next time!

2012 Christmas Ornaments

For the 2012 Christmas party I decided to use some of the acorn caps that fallen from my trees. It was a good year for my trees because there were thousands of acorns around each tree and the trees line my driveway and the front fence. I went out and picked the biggest acorn caps I could find right out of the tree, I didn't even have to stoop to pick them up they were hanging in the tree after the acorn fell out and boy did I find some big ones. I spent weeks picking these caps. I went to Hobby Lobby and bought some empty glass ornaments, took them home and tired it out. Nooooooo, they were to big and wouldn't fit, have you ever just wanted to cry? So out I go to pick the smallest acorns I could find and there were plenty. I invited Laura and Alivia over to help, we dipped the acorns into some glue and then into glitter and onto wax paper to dry, over 400 caps to glitter! Place the acorns into the ornaments, add a tag "I shook the family tree and a few nuts fell out" and a ribbon and were done. I thought this was going to be the easiest ornament I've ever made and it turned out I was wrong.

Gun Holder

Annie get your gun! I have two glue guns and it never fails when I'm in the middle of a project it keeps falling over. I saw a glue gun hold but it was nicer than mine and I wanted to mass produce these. I had a 1" x 4" x 4' in the garage and I cut the bottom pieces to 7 1/2" long so it could hold my bigger glue gun also. I used a jig saw to cut a hole to rest the glue gun on but next time I will use a hole drill and then the jig saw to finish it off. Sand, stain and add some Post-its for drips. I will be make one for each of my crafty girls and then some for the Church Bazaar.

Quiet Car Town

Wyatt took his cars to Church and cars are just a little noisy, so Aunt Val made him a felt car town. I forgot to take pictures of the felt cars but they are in the pocket on the bottom left side. He has a yellow house and garage, the garage door flap lifts to place car inside. He has a blue car wash he can run the cars through and a gas pump, I used the end of a shoe string for the pump handle. Theres a Church and a baseball field and lots of roads to travel. Now to teach him to say vroom vroom quietly.....good luck!
