Cookies for Santa

It's the most wonderful time of the year, baking cookies for Santa. I figured if this fluffy jolly guy is gonna leave me some gifts the least I can do is bake him some cookies. He doesn't want those store bought cookies, he wants homemade cookies sprinkled with LOVE. Put an apron on a kid, give them a rolling pin and cookie cutters and you have a whole afternoon of fun, Making a Memory! And don't forget to get evidence, I mean pictures.

A Cricut Cover and a Monster

I made this Cricut cover for
Melanie (my daughter)and every time I tried to take a picture of it this Blue Monster keeps showing up. I give up, so I will just post this picture with a monster in it. How did this monster get in my house??? I did not let him in my house. But I thought since I was going to give the Cricut cover to Melanie she will just have to take the Blue Monster too. Maybe the boys will figure out what to do with him. If anybody knows what to do with Blue Monsters PLEASE contact Melanie. He talks too!!!!

Cricut Cover

The Cricut machines do not like dust so I here, I just like the looks of the covers. This is the first one I made and the colors are too cute! This one has a fleece lining and I used ribbon instead of elastic around the bottom, I just liked the looks of the ribbon ties. This one isn't mine but I will make myself one now. Once I drew the pattern the rest was very easy. It only took me about an hour to sew this one. The fleece shed slightly so I will use a cotton lining for the next one. The girl purchase 1/2 yard of the printed material, 1/4 yard for the brown material, the fleece and the ribbon. I had a lot of the printed material left over, I probably could have used that for the lining. Craft and Learn!!

Easter Page

Flowers and Easter go hand in hand. I was just worried the little girl would fade out in the background paper but I think it turned out just right. I cut some eggs and tried them at the bottom but I didn't like that, then I printed Hoppy Easter on paper and placed it on the bottom and I didn't like that so I think I will leave this page just as it is. Notice the bunny shoes!!! Too cute.

Snowmen Fall Unassembled

Snowmen fall from Heaven unassembled is traced using a light box and a super fine Sharpie. I cut the Marshmallow Snowman on my Cricket, inked it and glued it on. Three of the snowflakes are brads, the other snowflakes are three strands of embroidery thread and beads. The trick is to find a needle that will go through the seed beads but will hold three strands of embroidery thread. I think I have one needle, but that's all it takes. This page is for January since in Texas its usually colder in January than in December.
****I love my Cricut****

Halloween Page

I cut the pumpkins and Witch hat using a SVG file from Treasure Box Designs. I inked the sides of the pumpkins with a red first and then the edges with brown. I inked the leaves with green, cut two shades of purple rectangles, added some black trim and stamped some black scrolls around the edge. This page needs a photo of the baby in the middle of a pumpkin patch. Wouldn't that be GOURDgeous.

Birth Month

This baby calendar page is for a girls birth month. Soft pink paper, soft pink buttons and soft pink ribbon. Just right for a brand new soft pink baby girl.

St. Patty's Day Page

This baby page is for March, St. Patrick's Day. Using my Cricut I cut out some four leaf clovers and then I placed a green page behind it. I cut the P with my Cricut and a very thin sheet of cardboard and glued them together to make it thicker, add ribbon. I used my light box to trace the words. Happy St. Patty's Day!

May is Mothers Day

My May calendar page is for Mother's Day, "I never knew how much love my heart could hold till someone called me Mommy". I have heard many people tell me they could never love a second child as much as they love their first, I'm here to tell you your heart just grows and grows and grows. After six children my heart is so full it could just bust!! I used three strands of embroidery floss for the green vine and the pink flowers and french knots. The brown and pink satin flowers are just circles cut from satin and you singe the edges. The top flower is paper, a yoyo and a button. In Microsoft Word I choose; Insert; Word Art, pick one of the fonts and type what you want it to say. You will get a new header that says Drawing Tools;Text Effects;Transform and then select how you want your text to look. I choose a rounded look and then printed it onto paper. I placed a template on top of the text, traced, cut out and inked the scalloped circle. BAM your done.

The Apple of My Eye

This is my Valentine page, You're the Apple of My eye. I printed the title onto regular paper, then I taped it to my light box. I placed the scrapbook paper on top and traced it with an extra fine Sharpie marker. I cut out three candied apples, inked the edges and using two sided tape I placed them onto the page. I tied raffia onto some short Popsicle sticks and hot glued them onto the apples and I used a white opaquing pen to high light the apples. Be my Valentine!!!!

Princess Baby Page

This is my Princess page. What little girl doesn't want to be a Princess? This would be for June, Fathers Day "A Little Girl's Daddy is Her First Prince Charming". And everyone knows a Princess has to have a carriage. I cut out the pieces, inked the edges with pink ink and then I slightly inked the pumpkin with brown. The wheels are just white circles and I used a plastic stencil to dab pink swirls on. Add green leaves and clear jewels and you have a Princess carriage. Ask a little girl who will protect her and she will say My Daddy. Who will fight off the bad guys? Her Knight in shinning white armour, Her Dad.

I'm Hooked on You

I will use this for a little boys Valentine page. As I was cutting this out I wasn't sure how it would turn out but I am very happy with it. I gave him blue jeans and a white t-shirt. I made him look slightly dirty with smudges of brown ink. I modeled this page after my sister's two boys, DJ and Aaron.
Hey boy's "I'm Hooked on You".

May Day Solo Cups

I bought a package of clear Solo
cups and they are so easy to decorate. You could make a cup of cake, crumble a cupcake into the cup and pipe icing on top, easy to eat with a spoon and no mess. This week I'm making baskets for May Day. I cut a curved shape and hot glued it to the cup....so easy. For the next cup I cut flower shapes from crepe paper and using my finger I smeared Modge Podge to the cup. I placed a flower on and then smeared more Modge Podge on top of the flower. Modge Podge will seal it. When you put the Modge Podge on it, it will be white but it will dry clear. Next time I will just tear pieces of crepe paper and Modge Podge them on to give it more of a stained glass look. Add paper flowers, real flowers or maybe flower plants. Who wouldn't want to receive one of these cups?????
