Passover with 6th Graders

We were discussing Moses life and the plagues that were brought down upon Egypt. One of the activities was to imitate a Passover meal, so I whipped up a batch of unleavened bread, the kids said it tasted like a tortilla but mine had a bit of honey in them so they were slightly sweetened. We also had apples with a sprinkling of cinnamon on them. We pretended to be dressed for travel, hats, coats and we sat on the edge of our chair. We had unleavened bread because it is faster to make than regular bread. We would have killed a lamb, cooked it and put some of its blood on the door way. Then the youngest child would ask, what are we preparing for, the Father of the house would then tell the story of the Passover. This was fun and I hope the kids liked it.
