Pumpkin Patch

I have made many of these fabric pumpkins for my pumpkin patch. They are easy to make and I think they are just adorable. This one has a satin yoyo on top of a felt flower for a stem. I just love yoyos. I cut six football shaped pieces of material (see below) and sewed them together. I sewed one end all the way closed and the other end I stopped about 1 1/2" from the top. Turn it inside out and stuff. At first I made them without the ribbon but they were pretty plain. I run the ribbon from one side, down and around to the other side. I tack all of the ribbons to the pumpkin on the bottom where they intersect. Then baste around the open end catching the ribbon as I go and pull untill the opening is about 2" diameter. I sewed on the felt flower and the yoyo. I'm going to make one and use rick rack instead of ribbon with a pinecone flower on top. Won't that be cute.
